Environmental Description
CARB: Compliant materials for CARB emission standards as set by the Air Regulations Board, of the Calf EPA. Standards apply only to products sold in the state of Calf. Yet we feel this is good for all our customers regardless of location.
EPP: The Composite Panel Association (CPA) Environmentally Preferable Product (EPP) grade mark program standards. They provide independent certification to panel that they are made using: Recycled and/or recovered wood fiber and adherence to voluntarily lower formaldehyde emission standards than government regulations require.
FSC: Chain of Custody (COC) Certification provides a guarantee about the production of FSC-certified products. Chain-of-custody is the path taken by raw materials from the forest to the consumer, including all successive stages of processing, transformation, manufacturing and distribution.
LEED USGBC: It can potentially contribute to achieving Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design (LEED™) credits.
SFI Forestry program standards. These are principles that promote sustainable forest management, including measures to protect water quality, biodiversity, wildlife habitat, species at risk, and forests with exceptional conservation value. The standard is used widely across North America, and has strong acceptance in the global marketplace so we can deliver a steady supply of third-party certified wood from well-managed forests. This is especially important because of the growing demand for green building and responsible paper purchasing at a time when only 10 percent of the world’s forests are certified.
The Environmental Chart is not filled out on this page. See the specific product for complete details.

IMPORTANT NOTE FOR DESIGN PROFESSIONALS
TO ENHANCE your DESIGN and AVOID getting stuck with the color WHITE for melamine or a CHANGE ORDER, understand: On average, for a few dollars more per cabinet you can specify a melamine color to enhance your design and provide better performance (patterns do not show the wear) for cabinet interiors. BUT YOU must specify a color or color group. Per AWI it states, “In the absence of a specified laminate pattern and/or color, woodworker will furnish base–priced (excluding up charge) melamine panels from manufacturers’ standard selection, When specified, woodworkers will furnish.. adjusting cost and delivery time.”
Ideal Applications
Melamine decorative panels consist of melamine resin saturated decorative papers, thermally fused under heat and pressure to a substrate of particleboard, or MDF (medium density fiberboard). The Thermally Fused Melamine (TFM) process permanently bonds the paper and the board; there is NO GLUE LINE to delaminate. The panels resists warping, bowing, scratches, stains, heat, steam, burnishing, abrasion, chip-out and damage due to excessive wear. Melamine Decorative Panels perform like high pressure laminate at a fraction of the cost.
