McKillican promotes the Hardwood products to architects and building design professionals. These promotional efforts support the growing use of hardwoods in aesthetic and architectural applications, especially applied to green building.

McKillican offers FSC Hardwood products.

Forest Stewardship Council (FSC) established in 1993 as a response to concerns over global deforestation, FSC is widely regarded as one of the most important initiatives of the last decade to promote responsible forest management worldwide. FSC link

FSC Chain of Custody (COC) Certification provides a guarantee about the production of FSC-certified products. Chain of Custody is the path taken by raw materials from the forest to the consumer, including all successive stages of processing, transformation, manufacturing and distribution.

Representing over 40 percent of the trees in the U.S., American hardwood species comprise one of the most sustainably managed forest resources in the world, producing consistent grades and providing for constant and reliable shipments.

Managed for both commercial and non-commercial purposes, any of the available species listed can be used for interior purposes, such as furniture, molding and millwork, cabinetry and much more. A number of species can be used for flooring, as well.
